It is payday. And I should not be allowed access to the web on payday - everyone knows this, but still they let me log on to my pc.
Get Knitted is selling Tofutsies - sock wool made out of soy silk and - what is that? - crab shells?! And they also have those beautifully-packaged Blue Sky Alpacas dpns in a tin in the elusive 2.25mm size. Not to mention a gorgeous vintage-style knitting bag. And Opal Feelings in all the colours (I still haven't knitted my rainbow ball - but if I got some more I could make over-the-knee socks for my daughter, couldn't I?) And as for that sheep tape measure....
And something made me look at the New Yorker website to discover you can buy every edition of the magazine from 1925 to 2005 on a set of 8 dvds - and the cost at Amazon is less than the cost of an annual subscription!? I was given (at my request) a one-year subscription as a leaving present from a job, back in 2001 - what a year to be a subscriber to the New Yorker! That was the year I decided to get my brain back, and the quality of writing was so inspiring. To think that I could have the complete archive to delve into whenever I needed a breath of culture! The short stories alone would make it worthwhile!
What is a girl to do?!
