Somhairle's socks

An unplanned week off work produced these socks.
"Conwy" from "Knitting on the Road", in less than one skein of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Desert Flower. I could have knitted them at least one cable twist longer - I will know next time!
I love the smoothness and slight sheen of this yarn, but I understand the "pooling" issue could be a bit annoying if you had paid full-price for the yarn. Mine was an Ebay bargain so I am just revelling in the colours!
"Conwy" is a really quick and easy pattern to pick up - I will definitely be making more of these - they fit well too.
Somhairle was my ten-week-old pregnancy which came to a sad and sudden end on 17th March when there was no heartbeat to be found at my scanning appointment.
Can I just advise anyone else in this situation to REFUSE a chemical "treatment" - it sent me into violent labour unexpectedly at home in the middle of the night, and it was truly HORRIBLE. Not helped by the instruction to catch my baby in a plastic dentures pot and bring it back to the hospital the next day.
Goodbye Somhairle - maybe next time.

Foxglove socks

This is what happened when we got snowed in for almost a week! The schools were closed and I was unable to get to work - shame eh?!
I finished my Foxglove socks, and when the kids weren't sledging, we played Scrabble.
I was really pleased to get my second pair of Jaywalkers out of just 75g of Fyberspates' sock wool - an Ebay bargain! With a little bit left for darning...
My next project involves just 60g of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Desert Flower... ripped out once already when I realised I had to start with fewer stitches if I was knitting from the ankle down. "Conwy" from "Knitting on the Road". Watch this space!
