Mosaic socks?

Following my previous post about Sockapalooooza designs, I had some really helpful suggestions. And someone called “secretsockpal” (oooh! Is this my sockapaloooza partner?!) came up with the suggestion of a mosaic pattern from “Sensational Knitted Socks”. It took me a little while to realise that mosaic knitting is a whole new technique to explore – one I never knew existed! Using slipped stitches to create a two-colour pattern without producing a double-thickness fabric And apparently “More Sensational Knitted Socks” has lots more mosaic designs in it too – ooh! Has anyone out there knitted any of these designs? I tried Google and didn’t come up with much. The only caveat I have found so far is that the resulting socks might not be as stretchy as normal. What is your experience?

Did you check the socks from 25 Fav. Socks? Grumperina did one from there that I think qualified as a mosiac. It has hidden X's and O's in it. Good luck with your decision.

I made a pair of mosaics--they were a little less stretchy in the leg; the pattern compensated by having you go up a needle size for that portion of it. I think mosaic is very cool, much easier for socks than stranded, in my experience. Have fun!
