The first rainbow sock is finished!
Even my son approves - though he thinks the sole pattern is better than the upper - it is "really intense". (I think this might be the hip new word to replace "cool" or "wicked" in teenage dictionaries.)
BUT...
What should I do about sock number 2? Should I try to make it a perfect twin and match up the stripes... or just knit it as it comes and go for sisterly socks?
Come on socakapaloooozers - I need your advice here! If this was YOUR sock (and it is definitely coming to one of you in August) what would YOU prefer?
- Perfect twin? or
- Sisters?
Please leave a comment to help me decide!

I *LOVE* it. I would be tempted to try to make them matching, but i don't think it will really matter.
I say sisters! Beautiful sock!! Can't wait to see what you end up doing.
It is gorgeous, sisters, definitely.
I might try for sisters but I wouldn't try too hard. I think that the pattern, yarn is stunning and I am curious if they were different if that would take away from that. But you obviously know more than me from the looks of this creation!
beautiful!! & sisters, definitely.
I think that just going for a sister sock is a good idea. Maybe even take that plan a little further and TRY to make them with mismatched stripes. The black pattern will tie the two together and make them look like a pair.
Beautiful work by the way. I am, as ever, in awe of stranded knitting. :)
I think it should just be a sister. Makes it more unique and special.
Sister Socks!!!! :)
I'd go with fraternal twins, and intentionally start the second sock on a different color. But I'm that way about handknit socks: I like them to each have a bit of personality.
Besides, it seems a shame to hide that pretty blue on the heel flap for both socks.
My vote would be for sisters, also!
Sisters! I'm all for showing it off as hand crafted with care!
I agree with an intentionally different color so that the sisterness is intensified!
It looks beautiful!
I agree! Fraternal or sister or slightly matching. Gives them more personality!
they should definitely be sisters. i never make my self striping socks match up. it kind of takes the handknit quality away from them.
i must say it again-- i sooo hope these are coming my way, they're beautiful!
I know I'm the only one, but I say twins. I did rainbow socks last year and they were twins and I love them. But that's just me. :-) And I think your socks are "totally intense" as well!
Definitely sisters. With such great yarn and a great pattern, they will clearly be a pair even if the colors don't match up exactly. Call them fraternal twins. They are just gorgeous!
GORGEOUS :D You've done it again pet :) I'd say sisters to take advantage of the colour variety and save your sanity a little...
Amazing sock! I would try to match, but not give yourself a headache over it. Bravo!
