Today we woke to the news that our dear blog friend Andre has died. He too had Multiple Myeloma, but had completely eradicated all sign of the cancer through a mini-allo transplant. Unfortunately, the transplant left him unable to produce his own red blood cells and with an immune system which was trying to kill him. A lung infection got him in the end. So unfair!
Although we never met, we looked in on each other in blogland almost every day - he had a magnificent sense of humour and a fierce wit. He will be missed by all who ever came across him but most of all by Ed, his loving husband.
What more can I say? Goodbye dear Andre, I am so sad we never got to meet.

Sorry to hear your news. I can't think of a single thing to say that would make you feel any better. We just 'meet' people sometimes who touch our lives, don't we? Thank goodness for these people, I say.
On Saturday morning I felt driven to write in my blog about Andre and then that evening I got the news... so very sad.
Like you, it was a relative connection that drove me searching for news and information about MM. Andre offered up the whole "gezilla" with a rare level of humor and insight. The last video on his blog shows him waving goodbye... I shall miss him, too.
