This is the view from the 7th floor of my pet building project. Impressive, huh?
I woke to text from London. My daughter has been offered a school place. It is a weird weird day today.

It just gets better now. My "gulp" year was when I turned 27 and thought "uh oh, late twenties. not young any more". Many many happy returns, and all best wishes for the year ahead!
Happy birthday, lovely lady! Yeah, 40s, huh? I thought the big 4-0 would be it and suddenly 41 is racing towards me. How did that happen? Hope everything is okay with your daughter and that you've had a good day, even if a bit weird.
Oh Happy Birthday! Same day as my sister. We just returned from celebrating her 49th.And I must say, that Norie hat has me wishing very much that I could do more than basic knit and purl stitch. And I don't even do them well. You are one talented lady. Hope all goes well for the "girl child."
Thanks everyone! There were several jokes about whether I wanted to be the first to jump from the 7th floor, as I had left it too late to be buried in the concrete. Charming! And no, Christine, I am afraid it won't be named after me - there is a price tag of several £m attached to that honour! ;)
Happy birthday, Roo! It has taken me several looks to interpret that building photograph. At first I thought it was a favourite building rather than a building under construction and I was trying to see those gaps in the netting as a sculptural effect in glass... Too much hanging out with architects and glass artists, methinks (but that can never be a bad thing can it?). I wish you and your daughter very well for the decisions that lie ahead. xxx
I live with my First Love in a rural idyll, after a lifetime in exile. In July 2007 he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma: an incurable cancer of the blood plasma. We got married in December 2007. Carpe diem.
There is lots of wind and sky where I live, which blows me away.
I love reading and stitching and creating things.
I have two lovely children, a dog and my First Love.
The Roobeedoo Manifesto, January 2012:
I hereby undertake to make all my own clothing
or purchase it from ethically-minded independent designers.
For now. For always.

Happy birthday - I hope there are treats in store for you today.
Wow, that's another year older, then eh?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Hope you have a lovely day - and the weather has improved for you. x
What Hero is moving out too?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! xx
A very Happy Birthday. I hope you weren't thinking of jumping! If anyone is rude enough to ask, just halve your age. ;-)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :-D

Happy Birthday! I'm 46 too and proud of it! We are not older just wiser.
Wishing you a great year. My advice is, forget about numbers!
Cool building project. Is this to be the Roobeedoo Knitting and Sewing (and Blogging) Centre of Excellence? :-)
