Another eebaay windfall. Somewhat more modest. And I didn't even have to bid for it. £7.99 for 6 vintage patterns. Even if I only make one of them, it will be cheaper than buying it from the US.
Simplicity 7457 is the one that tipped the balance.
I saw it only yesterday on another blog and may have hyperventilated slightly.

Ooooh, that top is very cute, I can see why you went for it. I'm thinking I should clear out my own pattern stash as there are some I know I'll never make.

What a great buy! I have to confess to doing the same with vintage knitting patterns. Luckily I haven't started in on the sewing patterns . . . yet.

I went through a real phase of buying vintage patterns, after buying about 30 I got all het up because I was worried that I wouldn't make them all. Then I had a "Eureka!" moment: it's ok if they are just nice to look at, as they inspire me then too. Ahh, all is calm...for the meantime! So enjoy your hobby - it's not hurting anyone is it? ;-)
I totally agree with Rachel in E'burgh. It is such fun to look at and create plans and stories. I mean, look at the wonderful life story you created! And really they don't take up that much room--but keep them dry!
Love the pansy fabric - it'll look perfect made up in that pattern. You could spend the same amount on a stress relieving bottle of wine but you'd have nothing to show for it. If you decide you have too many patterns, you can always sell them on!
Released as many endorphins for you as falling in love, with fewer unwanted consequences. You have nothing for which to apologize! You are allowed to have joy in your life! Not your fault if your joys -- and mine, and the rest of your commenters -- are considered a wee bit odd to most of modern society. You are among friends.

I think you're doing fine on the pattern front, but then I woke up one morning and realised I had about 1000 of them and actually did have to open a shop, so... I might not be the best judge.
That said, having an etsy shop is great. It lets you buy more things on etsy :p

Brilliant deal...I'm not even going to tell you how much I just bought ONE pattern for...teeheee...but this is a GREAT deal and such fabulous designs!
I say £7.99 is a great price, and really there could be *far* more harmful and expensive addictions.
Re. stress relief, I fondly remember an old lady from Virginia who said (imagine Southern accent): "People ask me how can I afford to knit, and I tell them, 'By the hour, it's cheaper than psy-cho-therapy.'"

Swoon! How do you find then? Any bumper loads of patterns I spy on ebay don't have this many beauties in them. That top right pattern looks very tasty too....

I agree that £7.99 doesn't seem too much for a great selection of patterns. I am loving the yellow floral blouse pattern. Vintage pattern buying is much cheaper than therapy.

Yay! The patterns arrived on Saturday and I am pretty sure I will sew at least three of them, so it was definitely a good buy. :)
