Five Years

Today is the fifth anniversary of FL's diagnosis.

An odd thing to celebrate!

But... he's still alive and he's still enjoying life, and we were promised neither of those things five years ago.

Ullapool 2012
I was going to include a photo from 2007... but today I discovered that Kodak Gallery has taken down its UK site, where I stored my family photos from 2007 to 2012.  I only put them there after a couple of hard-drive failures and corrupted back-up discs left me with no digital files from 2004 to 2006.  There are instructions on how to download special software to allow me to retrieve my pictures... but I don't hold out much hope since they no longer recognise my email address on the website.

Print them or lose them, people!

So glad the doctors got it wrong.

This is definitely a special something to 'celebrate', I'm sure it takes a lot of courage doing what you all do and that's something to be very proud of and grateful for. The picture you've chosen is stunning, but what a shame about your others! That's so heartbreaking...is there any way of getting them back at all? Do they have a customer service / contact email address you can pester?

I hope you two are able to spend some time just being together together today, celebrating the years you've been able to share and the years you have yet to come :-)

Yay to celebrating being together and happy. Boo to losing photos. How awful. I hope you can contact someone and have them sort out the issue.

Thanks with the reminders to hang on to what we have.

That really is something to celebrate, so chuffed for you both. Let's hope those doctors are still wrong years from now :D

Grr at Kodak, they could at least have warned you in time to move the files elsewhere.

Really sorry about your photos; that seems very unfair indeed. And hooray that five years later here you both are! I hope FL continues to stump the doctors for a long, long time to come.

That is a beautiful photograph.

I live in the U.S. and had much stored on the Kodak site. A couple of weeks ago I started receiving messages about Kodak's bring incorporated into Shutterfly. Their web address is
shutterfly@e.shutterfly.com I'm sure you'll be able to get some help to retrieve your photos. Lovey

I love the photo. Sorry to hear about your kodak problems, I hope you can retrieve the pictures somehow. Mine are backed up on snapfish and I guess I am liable to the same thing happening. Best wishes on reaching five years and here's to the next five years. You know since reading the tuitle I keep having David Bowie in my head, singing "five years" I am not even sure if the song really is that...right time to stop wittering...

Bonus years are certainly worth noting and celebrating. You take so many gorgeous photos - like the one used here - that I hope you find a way to access the 'lost' ones.
