No Myeloma news, because they didn't send FL's blood to Birmingham last month.
FL has coughed constantly for the past three weeks, and his ankle is still bothering him, so the Consultant decided it was time to give some attention to his symptoms "in case there is something else".
I have ditched the bright red. Maybe it's my age, but it wasn't working for me anymore. Hooray for Test by Illamasqua! Thank you for your votes of confidence when I blogged about this dilemma of earth-shattering importance.
My Sock Knitters Anonymous project for October is the Stripes Alive! (free) pattern using yet another ball of Online Supersocke Paradise Color. Looking good!
I reached the heel flap of sock one in the waiting room.
the book of the website There's More to Life Than Shoes. It's a bit twee and girly in style, but there are some good interviews with interesting women in there, including the fabulous Camila Batmanghelidjh.
In a work-related aside, as the former PA to someone who wrote to Camila regularly, I used to test my typing speed by typing her name over and over again until I hit the bottom of the page.
You have to find your joy somewhere at work.
So, having just finished More to Life...I fell about laughing when I got a job interview notification through, requesting that I prepare a 15-minute presentation on "your passion"! Have they been stalking my bookshelf? Or is it just the Masterchef effect? Because clearly we all have "passions" now, not hobbies or interests!
As a result, I have been even worse than usual at replying to people's lovely genuine comments. I DO appreciate your words, I really do!
But please don't advise me to use Discus: my internet service is too slow to cope and I often can't even load the blogs of people who use Discus, nevermind leave a comment for them!
Mutter mutter mutter.
And finally...The Switch:
This weekend, I performed the Great Seasonal Wardrobe Switchover.
Up there on the washing-line is everything I took out of storage for the new season.
That would be: three polo necked Boden sweaters and my 1950's twinset.
Everything else was already in circulation.
It looks like summer will be stretching a little bit longer into autumn while I get my sewing act together!
Thank goodness for woolly tights!
